Windows 2000, XP, or Vista

.Net

WeSay on Windows, up through version 0.6, requires Microsoft .Net Framework Version 2 SP1 (you may already have it). This link will take you to the Microsoft page where you can download it. Note, if the machine has a newer version of .Net, including 3.0 or 3.5, then you don't need to install version 2 Sp1. WeSay will run on those versions as well.

WeSay on Windows starting with version 0.7 requires .Net 3.5 [1]. This is the same .net required by FieldWorks and Paratext7, which both come with the .net 3.5 installer.

If the machine you are putting WeSay on is not getting regular Windows updates, you may not have another free Microsoft piece required to install .Net, which is Microsoft Installer 3 (about 2 Megs).

Linux

WeSay is now running on Linux using Mono. The PaLaSo group is shipping test versions for Ubuntu Linux. Kim Blewett is including WeSay on BALSA, her Operating System-on-a-chip.

Mac

WeSay is not available for the Mac. If you are a programmer who would like to get it running for the mac, many people would be thankful.
